Your Anmore Realtor
Even though people have lived in Anmore for more than a century, it was incorporated only in 1987. Anmore is a village municipality, north of Port Moody set along the beautiful shores of Indian Arm. Original residents bought land for a few dollars and built modest shacks close to their work at local cedar mills & timber operations. This is a far cry from today’s residents living in semi-rural comfort - many in elegant new homes on acreages, half acres and much larger than typical city lots - all enjoying the quiet natural surroundings. Buntzen Lake is the jewel in the crown offering great hiking, canoeing and swimming opportunities. Managed by BC Hydro, the lake is used to power two hydroelectric stations located on Indian Arm. With a population of approximately 2210, Anmore is one of only three politically independent villages in the Greater Vancouver area - one being the neighbouring Belcarra and the other, Lions Bay. With the best of both worlds, Anmore is just minutes by car to Port Moody’s shopping and amenities.
